Alice Hui (Flautist)
As a recipient of a two-year full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, Alice Hui studied at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris after graduating from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with First-Class Honours. After gaining all votes and congratulations from the jury and winning the first prizes at the school concours two years in a row, she embarked directly on second-year studies of the Diploma Superieur de Concertiste. During her years in Europe, she held recitals and performed publicly at St. Mary Church, Cite Internationale des Arts, Musee Nationale Henner, Ville de Paris Marie and Salle Cortot. In 2016, she won the Concerto competition at the HKAPA and was chosen as one of the Young Music Makers by RTHK4, winning the “Adjudicators’ Choice” award. She was furthermore invited to record for Hong Kong Museum of Art’s “the Sound of Art” series in 2021. She was also chosen as one of six elite musicians to perform with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 2021-22 under The Orchestra Academy.
An enthusiastic orchestral musician, Alice started playing as a freelance flutist and piccoloist with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta since the age of 18. She has also worked with the Asian Youth Orchestra, the In-heritage Philharmonic, Grand Opera and MusicaViva, to name a few. As a devoted educator, she is currently teaching at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’ junior music school; her students have been accepted for both Bachelor's and Master's programmes at the HKAPA, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Education University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University.
